New Pioneer 8000, Sirius problem
Just installed the Pioneer 8000 tonight, great sounding/looking HU. But.... I am hooking up a Sirius Sportster 4 using a male/male 3.5mm cable, and only am getting sound out of drivers side speakers. Go to tuner source, full sound all speakers. WTH???
Yes, I checked the obvious, fade balance. Thought maybe there could be different settings based on source, but doesn't look like it. The cable is brand new from radio shack, maybe got a bad one?
Anyone have any other ideas? I am hoping just overlooking something stupid..... any help appreciated!
Thanks
Bob

Anyone? I know some of you guys have installed this stereo, any chance I am just missing a setting?
Oh, and the Sirius unit has been hooked up to the stock radio and worked fine, as well as working in my other vehicle.

Did you have the shaker 500? If so, you may need to install a y cable like TacoBill did.

i would guess that the 3.5 cord you bought is mono not stereo. check the ends for 2 black stripes around the tips. that would be stereo, if there's only one then its mono. or you could look at the package it came in, if you still have it.

You win silver!!! Yep, I accidently bought a mono.... what the heck would they even make something like that anymore LOL.
My kid actually was returning the "defective" cord to RS and looked at it in the store and it finally hit him, had to tell the guy oops, just need a different type.
I just new I was doing something stupid, but thought a slight chance it was the HU. All installed now, and pretty cool feature having bluetooth through it. Downloaded my cells phonebook, and so 'caller iD' on the disply works. I know that is nothing special in todays new car/stereo world, but it is my first experience with it.

Bluetooth works pretty darned well, too. Actually, too well. I was near my car. I don't remember if the keys were in the ignition or not. But I answered a call and it suddenly dropped. I looked at my phone and was still connected. I heard "hello" faintly coming from my car lol.
Glad you got it resolved. I thought about the cable, but then I figured, "nah, he checked that." lol

Are you able to use the BT while driving with windows down? Where did you locate the mic? I have a convertible and wondered if it will even be close to being able to use abd have anyone understand me.... I placed the mic by the turn sig stalk.
