hurst shifter help please im goin nuts

Unhappy hurst shifter help please im goin nuts

i have the new hurst shifter and love it but i got a rattle and it sounds like it s coming from the shifter. when i rev it in neutrel you hear the rattle then when i do it and pull the handle it goes away so its the shifter and it is not the handle its in the shifter itself. so what should i do i got it 3 months ago from mustangs unlimited. now if i get another one will i have the same problom or should i get somethign else???????????

First, double check everything for tightness...
Second, the washers that come with that shifter aren't that great IMO.
Replace them with copper ones and crank that sucker good.

On mine, I did use longer bolts and put a nut on the other end with the above mentioned washers. It was 2 years ago and this thing is as tight as a virgin nun and vibrations free.

locktite....put it on everything!!! my shifter has never mad a peep really. I love the thing too!

i tried to loosen the 2 botls and i couldnt even do that i made it so tight lol

I haven't installed one on this car, but I know from previous cars that sometimes some dynamat around the exposed opening around the boot would help to adsorb some vibrations.

Take those metal lock washers off and get some plastic ones or do what PASCAL did he knows what he is talkin about

you think thats def what the rattle is its reeally tight but ill try anyway cant hurt

thats what the rattle most likely is but you can check the other bolts/nuts for tightness but be careful not to snap the stud off that shifter linkage. my buddy did that.
