LOL...its forced perspective. The Pypes picture is crappy quality and at a terrible angle. They have always been 2.5" or 3.0" in/out mufflers.

Here is a few pictures of the 2.5" M80's. The same p/n included in the Pypes mid muffler system.

They did it... ALthough they did it with flowaster 40's which are even quieter than the 44's that the american thunder system uses (Weak)... I think with macs it would sound awesome!!! And no drone... But how did they fit them? Thats the question...
i think the flowmaster sounds really good the the 44 or even the mac mufflers probly will sound even better i iwsh i could see a pic of the set up
