Default Failed NC Inspection

If you have a CAI/Tune combo and you are getting your car inspected in North Carolina, the PCM won't respond to their computers and you will fail.

Your tune must have the o2 sensors turned off, I had this same problem getting mine inspected. You will need a new tune or put your car back to stock and drive it about 50 miles to let the pcm reset so that it will pass.

Remove the aftermarket CAI when you put it back to stock otherwise you will lean out.

yeah i went back to stock and passed (with illegal tint lol). I just wanted others to know that you should go ahead and go back to stock before going in to get inspected if your state does computer readouts.

This part of N.C. doesn't have that inspection yet. It's probably only a matter of time before they do though.

My car was inspected at the dealership and passed. I have a C&L Racer CAI and Brenspeed 93 tune. I didn't put anything back to stock. My O2 sensors are on.

Not to hijack, but since this is a North Carolina related thread, those of you who have not done so already should join the NC Mustangs social group. In case you don't know where to look, it's in your control panel under "social groups".

...and now back to regular programming.

I passed with a supercharger in Texas. As stated before...all you have to do is have your tuner turn on your O2 sensors. No need to remove your CAI/Tune combo. I dont know why most the tuners turn the O2 sensor off.
