Default Problem with Automatic Tranny?

While driving the car the other day, I got on it kinda hard, and the car responded exactly as it should, no issues. However, the O/D Off light on the display kept flashing, and I tried pressing the button, and nothing I could do would stop it. So, I pulled over, put the car in N, R, and then park, and the light continued to flash. I shut the car off, left it off for a min, then started it back up, and the light was gone. I drove the car a bit more, got on it again, and no light. Should I be concerned, or could it be one of those things that never come back again?

I did a quick google search, it seems that this is a DTC for the tranny (like the check engine light), but im not sure if it is an issue if it goes off, and doesnt stay on. Has anyone else had this happen before??

If you still have warranty service, I’d take it in for a thorough inspection.

I would take it in, as technically I have a warranty on the car. However, I have various mods, and Im not too sure how the dealership will react. CAI/tune, 3.73's, COP's, Alum. Driveshaft...... I do have to take the car in for an issue with the paint on the hood/rusting/corrosion on the underside, so maybe ill have them check it out at the same time. The issue is, I dont really have time to go.

Usually indicates a problem with a solenoid. There are many solenoids in that tranny....

I know that the transmissions are nothing a like, but that same thing happened on my family's old Windstar...right before the transmission let go. Hope thats not what's going on with yours. I would definitely take it to the dealership to have it looked at.

I would take it to the dealership and see if they can pull any of those hidden codes.
You can also reflash the tune. I have seen many wierd things happen with my lights. When I broke my input shaft and toasted the whole tranny I had no lights the car didn't think anything was wrong, all the inards were destroyed in the trans.
