Default Install for 298 kit?

If you've had the Livernois' 298 stroker kit installed...or heard of anyone having it installed. Could you tell me what the estimated install cost should be. The tunes from a shop are all pretty much the same from all the surronding shops, but I'm thinking $3000 should be a little high for install of this kit?

They will have to pull your motor and put it back in
Replace all gaskets
I'm not sure if it (the block) will need any machining as the 298 is a stroker and it may need clearance for the rods or anythingelse.
Pistons, rods and crank will need to be machined and possibly the crank will need some heavy metal added.

Sometimes manufactures that make these kits will sell them already balanced. The only thing I would want to know is if the block will need any machining and if the person who assembles the motor has ever done in modular 3 valve motors.

$3000 is good if you ask me.

I believe the OP is talking about the Livernois's 298 stroker kit. Those assemblies are already balanced. Hopefully someone will chime in with some concrete info.

Well I contacted Livernois via email and this is what they said in response to machine work, "The only machine work you will need is piston fit and align hone. There is no clearancing necessary for this assembly." I looked at steeda's website and they have the time alloted thingy on the site that is approxiamate install time and it said 20 hours...so if a shop charges $100 per hour then I was thinking between $2000-$3000?

Well that's cool. Very little machine work for sure.

Don't forget you will need a new flywheel.
