Hey, this would be my first thread and thanks for reading. But anyway, I just bought my 06 Mustang GT, it has 18 inch chrome torque thrusts on it, my question is on my rear end, the drivers side rim and tire seems to be inside the fender, but on my passenger side the rim and tire stick outside the fender. Does anyone know what could cause this or is this normal? The car seems to drive and feel fine, just seems odd to me.

My 2006 4.0L/5spd coupe did the opposite thing (mine stuck out farther on the driver's side). It looked worse when parked diagonally on a slight slope. I ended up buying a PowerHouse severe-duty double-adjustable poly/poly panhard bar. Had my alignment shop install it during an alignment, and it fixed things right up.

 

well my car is still under warranty...wouldn't that be something that should be covered by ford?

 

Is the car lowered at all? If it is then you need the adjustable panhard bar.

Smoky, mine had the stock springs/shocks too, but it still wasn't centered. I had aftermarket LCA's, but they were not the cause.

You could take it to the dealer to see if they would fix it, but I doubt they can do anything other than install another stock fixed-length panhard bar. It sounds like you need an adjustable one to compensate for Ford's "allowable tolerances".

I would guess it had been lowered, as that is a common problem.
Can you show us a photo of the car's ride height?

If it has the stock springs I don't know how it got that way...
Was it in an accident?
Check Carfax.

 

The car doesn't seem to have been wrecked, but i didn't check carfax.
