I can't tell you from experience, because I still have the stock 17" wheels, but when you go to a big shiny 20" chrome wheel, you add a lot of weight. Weight is bad for fuel economy and performance no matter where you put it, and the wheels are one of the worst places to gain weight. The heavier wheels require more force in order to spin at the same speed as a lighter wheel, therefore a car with the same power will be faster with lighter wheels than if it had heavier wheels. The 20" wheels really kill your drag times because in order to get a good launch, you want a lot of tire sidewall. The smaller the wheels you have, the more sidewall you have (assuming you keep the same tire diameter). You want sidewall because then your tires can flex on launch and wont spin, therefore lowering your time.

Your driving style as alot more to do with it than 20's. And...if your 20's actually weigh less than say 18's..well, there you go. It's the overall weight that hurts...not the size.

i wouldn';t imagine a huge difference in mpg..

and like stated earlier.. has nothing to do with wheel size, it deals with rotational mass.

well i have a truck with much bigger tires and rims and there alot heavyer so it does hurt me alot, and it takes more power to turn them. so it depends on weight and it also depends on your gears

When I switched from my 17s to my 20s, there was no difference at all in MPGs.
