Default Remote Starter Question

As I am about to pick up my first mustang I am interested in getting a remote starter for the winter months ahead.

On Fords site it lists the remote start option at $230. When I asked my salesmen he told me it was a dealer installed accessory and if I wanted I could pick it up elsewhere as well or it could be installed.

What I am wondering is how much would it be to add a remote starter later on and would it interfere with any of the security system. I thought I read something about it interfering with it in another post awhile back or could I just buy a third party one. Which way should I go?

Thanks guys

Remote starters need to address the PATS system.
I would think the dealer has a good way to do this.
Better than the bypassing methods that aftermarket
remote starts do. Its like making your vehicle easier
to start from a distance but even more important,
easier to steal.
