Default Factory Navigation or Aftermarket?

Okay, im going to start by saying, I have the Shaker 500 6 disk player in my 05 sixxer. i Love the sound clarity and the bass but ive been looking around for a built in Navigation system.

I love the look of the factory one they have installed in the newer stangs but i called ford up and they said it would cost me about $2,000

I dont have that much in my account lol i need a navigation system that is built in and sounds just as good as my shaker 500 does now.

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
'Chris

For 2k? You can get a near top of the line aftermarket for that much. Plus, you can also have the option for a hard wired iPod connection as well. Ford usually lets you have one or the other, since only one Aux is present. Go aftermarket.

Oh im def. going aftermarket but i was wondering what brand/model would be right . I want a somewhat stock appearance, that fits in flush with the dash and doesnt look out of place

I am trying to find the same thing as you are now and i have noticed that nothing looks as good as the factory navigation system looks. its just so expensive but i think it might be worth waiting for.

Factory NAV will not work in a 2005 Mustang .. it has been tried and discussed by folks on other forums .. go aftermarket 100% ... I'm happy with my Avic-D3.

I have the Pioneer Avic Z1 in the stang and a Z2 in my escalade with a Z3 HD upgrade on both and I love the system make sure that you get the AVIC bypassed so you can use the nav without having to have the car stopped and the parking brake on, you can also watch movies while moving (I would not recommend that)haha!!.
