tinting side markers illegal?

okay, here is a thought....
when you tint with say the vinyl tint film or with the use of clearcoat with a hint of black to darken it, light will still reflect out of the housing.....
when you paint them say with black spray paint and then clearcoat after that, a very small amount of light may pass, if any, and not allow reflection of the orange or red housings...
my tails are painted with clearcoat that had black in it to darken it up condiserably....during the day, they are blacked out, but at night, i turn my lights on and the red passes right through with no problems...
i think the thing to look at here is that " vehicle must reflect amber" and "vehicle must reflect red"....im pretty sure they mean at night so if your corners still produce an amber-like color and tails red in color when the lights in the housings are on, im sure youll be fine as far as cops go...
