I have ~30+ lb 18x9 American Muscle Deep Dish bullits and 18lb 17x9 5Zigens. I run the 5Zigens on road courses so I'm swapping them frequently. I have only CAI and Tune. It is clear, I can feel a difference - I wouldn't say it accelerates better (maybe a little) but it feels lighter and quicker in the corners. For track work its a good investment. For street use...don't expect a magic bullet, the difference will be subtle. Whether its worth the $ only you will be able to judge.

my shelby 20" forged aluminum alcoas weigh under 30lbs a wheel, i know this cause the shipping receipt from ups said 30.63lbs and that included 2 boxes and packing material

Well from what I have researched in the past it was 4 pounds for every 1 removed off the drivetrain. But then I don't have the reading material anymore so that probably doesn't help you much haha. No matter what lighter wheels will always net you better times/control. Just make sure you have the traction though!
