Unhappy E brake issue (not freezing)

Hi all, been a long time... My e-brake recently broke... i pulle dup on it and it popped, now it is just loose... i took apart the center consol and tightened what I though was a nut that would fix the issue (hopefully adjusting the tension?) needless to say it didn't work... any ideas? Broken cable? loose connector? Broken e-brake handle assembly? Anyone had experience with this and fixed it? How hard is it to change any of the above? I will climb under it tonight after work, but its nice to have an idea on where to focus my attention.

Sounds like one of the cables broke. Easy fix.
pull up on the lever and then check the tension on each "arm" of the cable. Start at the wheels and work your way foward. It's probably one of the cables that go to the calipers, not the main cable itself.

This happened to me. It's a PITA to change. Mine broke at the point of the Y. It was the part that comes from the brake handle itself. Then it went and met a bracket that turned into 2 more cables. But again, it was the 1 cable from the brake handle to that bracket.

The problem is that you have to buy the ENTIRE brake assembly. Ford doesn't sell just the cable. But it's only $90.00. But it is also a good opportunity to change to the Bullit or GT500 leather wrapped one if that's something you've been wanting to do...

alright... I climbed under the car and found the problem, it is the main cable, not one of the two that goes to each tire... It broke right there at the end where it connects to the bracket... So... its $110 for the entire e-brake assembly from ford, how much is it for the leather shelby or bullit one? anyone know where to find them other than ford?
