Default Gear Installation

Has anyone gotten new gears installed in the Dallas area? I've got a t-lok and ordered some 3.73 gears, just need to know where to get'em installed. Thanks

One install I wish I had taken more time to find a guy who knew exactly how to shim it correctly. Whines all day...sigh.

I am considering Dallas Mustang for mine. There are a couple of other shops in town though, HPP Racing & Keith Craft Motorsports. I need to make a decision here shortly...

I was thinking of using HPP as well. I have never dealt with them, but a few of my friends have. They only have good things to say about them. Only dealt with Dallas mustang once to buy wheels and they were good. Guess I should just call and get pricing.

I had GearHeads in Arlington install 3.73's in my 5.0. They didn't whine at all.

I've heard about Gearheads, but I've never known anyone whose used them. Was the pricing pretty good? No problems with the gears?

I went with gearheads. They do great work for a great price. I had my got my gears and had them installed for $420 out the door. Then about 2 months later i started getting a HORRIBLE whine and they took a look at it, and it wasn't the gears that was whining, it was my housing that caused the bearing kit to shrivel to pieces and get in my pumpkin. They didn't charge me for labor! Had my headers installed there too.. $300 out the door.

The price of the gears and install was $300 out the door (for a fox body mustang). They were running a special at the time. The gears were Ford Racing and never whined. I put about 5,000 miles on them before I sold the car.

The one good thing about getting your gears installed at GearHeads is that this is their specialty. They do so many of them they are actually pretty good at it.
