quesion about wheels
I know theres a massive offset topic and the best offset for this car is around 30 mm but i've been looking on ebay and found a wheel that thesite claims was made for the 2005 mustang and i'm having trouble figuring out if it will fit or not. The rear wheel is 18x10 with a +30 mm offset but the front wheels are 18x9 with only a +12 mm offset. I don't know a whole lot about wheels but I know enough to think that the front wheels are going to stick out past the fenders which, with a 2 inch drop, is trouble. I emailed the site and they say its not a typo and they do fit. Anyone who can help me make sense of this would be appreciated. Thanks.

The best offset for the 05 is around 45mm. It was less for the previous generation. +12 will stick out like a **** with a 9" rim. The tires in my sig (for a few more days) are +26 offset 18x9 with 255/45/18's.
All four of my wheels are 17x9, with a +45mm offset. They are exactly in line with the edge of the fender flares in the rear. Here are some shots:

I've got some +49 18x8 front, +43 18x9.5 rear rims with 255/45/18 and 285/40/18 tires on the way. The fronts will move inward an inch, but they're currently too far out for my taste anyway. The rears will move in 17mm, but back out 15mm, so they're pretty much a wash.
Yours look perfect, Don.

I thought buying wheels for this car was going to be fun but its gotta be the most nerve racking thing i've done so far. I think i'm going to go with some black fr 500's as soon as I can find the right offset.

I'd like to see a few more pics of your car from different angles. It looks awesome in your sig pic!

I have also spent an unreal amount of time finding a rim/tire combo with the right size/offset/weight/look. Even so, I wound up with a bit of a compromise, as I was hoping to get 295's (or even 305's), but I wanted 18's and I wanted both front and rear tires to be about the same height as stock without really wide front tires, which I did accomplish. I don't think there'll be too many others with the same rims I chose, although they do look a bit like the wheels that will be on the new Cobra.

...and I'm leaning toward the Procharger, but I'm going to see if I can hold out a little longer just to make sure I don't have any of the 1st model year issues first (besides my slow-filling gas tank) and to let some folks push the envelope a bit to see where the edge is.
