Default Noise reduction, need help

Hi

I guess you probably dont see these kind of topics very often but I actually need to kill the noise level of my GT. I relocated to Boston for work but now have to go back to France and there is no way I will not bring my Mustang back with me

However, the stupid French regulations imposes me to cut down the noise level by over 10 Db there!
I need some help and advises. I currently have a cat back Steeda line so I am planning to buy a used stock line and make modifications to it. I have seen some people opening up the mufflers and adding "walls" in it as well as stuffing it with some sort of iron fillings... I guess I could ask someone to do it but not sure what to ask exactly....
Also, I have seen some Db killers on the internet...are those efficient?
What about adding an additional muffler closer to the cat?
What about building a dedicated thiner line... etc...

Any other ideas? It would be great if you could also point me to a Mustang specialist close to Boston that could help me build this lines..

Any help is appreciated!

i would guess getting a stock line (h-pipe and axlebacks) would do it; i don't know the stock db levels, though

I bet adding some mid pipe mufflers will do the trick

man, france sucks... and anything that cuts down noise levels most likely won't be efficient. maybe a set of flow through style mufflers in the mid-pipe?

Wow man that is harsh.... you could open the mufflers and throw some fiberglass in them then weld them back up.....

Yes France really sucks for cars, US is a lot easier, cheaper and more fun. France is all into "green - eco" stuff bs, everybody (85%) drive diesel 4 cylinders so if you drive a gaz 8 cyl you look either very cool or very stupid depending on who you talk to ...anyway..

I like this idea of a mid pipe muffler thing, do you have more details on how it would look like, where do buy them and who could help me fit them on some stock pipes?

i've got the pypes mid muffler system and its nowhere near quiter than stock! maybe if you got that system AND went with some stock mufflers out back it would help? i'd also maybe consider wrapping your exhaust... it would be a pain in the butt but it could quiet it down... any of the speed shops sell header wrap but you can get the same stuff cheaper from an industrial supply house like grainger or mcmaster-carr... if you think about the wrapping the exhaust route put a layer of aluminum tape over it to protect it from the weather... might look like crap from underneath but it could do the trick... pm me if you need some help sourcing stuff like that out cause I work with both the companies I mentioned daily... if everyone bombs my idea and you don't like it either, best of luck.... its all that comes to mind....

I forgot to mention: the modification must not be visible! Amazing isnt it?! So the wrapping would be too obvious...

What are mid mufflers for BTW? Are they increasing power / torque?
