How much $$$ could i get for my car?

38K is like the price of a new Shelby GT and not much less than a GT500! (assuming no crazy dealer markup).
If that's true, who ever paid that much is a complete brain dead moron.
For one thing 24K for an 06 is too much to begin with.

An '06 GT? On average, its probably worth 18, maybe 20 grand private sale , depending on mileage. Trade in about 15-16 if you're lucky. Buying an '06 GT for 24k is getting ripped off, nevermind 38k!!! 28-29k you can get a brand new clean, unmolested GT, lower financing, and a brand new warranty! And if I saw mods on the car, no raise in the asking price, take 'em off, or they just get dissolved into the value of the car.

+1 strong smell of BS.
As far as your other question, the easy answer is whatever someone is willing to pay.
If you found a guy who loved everything you did you might get most of what you paid for the mods on it + the depreciated value of the base car.
If you just wanted to sell it out right add about $1-2K over what KBB says for a base GT and you would be lucky to get it.
99.9% of the time cars are a horrible investment and modding them is even worse.
But there is always that saying "A sucker is born every minute."
So one day you might hit the lottery.
