Car in the shop today... going to be there an additional day to finish up. They ran three baseline dynos and started the job. I'm more worried about the tune. Doug sent me his latest FRPP HR cam tune but it still makes me nervous... we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Thanks for the good word, hammer. I just got the car home from having the cams installed. Good news first... I picked up 28rwhp on the dyno. Bad news... it's idling like S-H-I-T. When you depress the clutch or take it out of gear at speed the revs go all the way down to about 200rpm, then bounce up-down-up-down several times sounding like it's going to die until the idle stabilizes. And turning the A/C on just hammers it. I had to ride home with the windows down...

I'm sure it's tune related. Any ideas?

I'm about to reload the tune into my tuner and try some different options (idle speed, etc) just for the hell of it. I think I'm really going to love these cams once I get this idle speed crap worked out...

(fingers crossed)

I'll fire up my video cam later and take some video. It does sound nice!

Somebody here had a rough-running problem with a self-installed cam and the problem turned out to be that the guy have some incorrect cam specs to his tuner. After talking to the turner guy again, they got the right cam specs into the tune and it ran fine.

Yes just email doug back and see if he can get it worked out quickly. I know he has reworked a couple of the tunes for these cams.

yeah, I just took it out for another short run. idle is all over the place. died on me a few times.

I hope the tune is the problem. can't hardly drive it like this... calling Doug in the morning for a some assist.
