how hard is the install on something like this for someone who has no idea how to wire anything? are there any really good walk-throughs?

I've added the LED dome lights:

Ordered them from ebay for around $23 took about 5 minutes to install.... no knowledge of wiring needed, you don't even really need to remove the panel just pop out the plastic lens caps unscrew and put the new ones in.....

I want to do the door lights next.....

All it takes is removing the console and verifying the correct wire with a multi-meter and then some basic wiring. The LED's come with double-sided tape and they mount directly to the factory tabs. I installed the on/off switch and dimmer completely out-of-sight on the bottom lip of the passenger side dash in the corner by the console.

It took me all of about an hour but I ended up with 'factory functioning' foot-well lighting.

They also come on with the headlights switch and can be dimmed with the dash lights. I also installed a separate under dash on/off switch and a separate dimmer (I used a potentiometer). I used blue LED's and use blue "my-color' dash lights.

I got two of the 6-LED units from Advance Auto for about $10.00 each. They attach directly to the mounting tabs that the factory LED's do on 2007+ Mustangs (located under the dash in the center of each foot-well). I wired them into the the line in the console that the illuminates auto shifter (mine is manual but the wire is still there). I get tons of compliments and it really works great for driving at night. I can keep just a dim blue glow or have them as bright as I want with the separate dimmer.
do you have pics?

I included a couple different levels of intensity with the dimmer. The LED is attached to the factory plastic mounting tab found on 2007+ Mustangs. The blue **** is the dimmer and the black **** is a push/pull on/off switch.

Total cost including LED's, dimmer and switch was only $28.00

Hope these photos answer some questions.
