Default air intake problems

I have a K and N cold air intake on a 2008 mustang 4.6L. The problem is that the hose clamps and piece of rubber they give you suck and mine keeps coming off of the throttle body. It happens about once a week now it's very aggravating. What can I do so that this doesn't happen, such as an alternate way of attachment, different clamps, etc. Any suggestions would help.

Make sure the rubber is on all the way and clamp it tight.

the only thing that comes to mind
cmarshall72, is maybe there is a
little bit of oil on the mating surfaces.

i would clean up the surfaces real good,
then reattach

hmmm, could always sell it for a JLT. I have one and its a great intake. its so damn big you have to work a bit to get it so its not rubbing on anything but its done now and the car pulls like crazy.

Overtightening will distort the seal to the TB. Too loose and, well, that sucks too. Don't feel bad. You're not alone. This is a common thread.

Hey it's happened to me on my dirt bikes and quads. You try to get the intake boot over the carb and sometimes not enough of the boot goes over the metal and it doesn't grab good.
