Default thumping noise in the front/right corner

i am having some issues with a very anoying noise in the front passanger side. i believe it is the shock, but from what i've read thru here it seems that it could be something else? if in deed it is the shocks, which one's should i get? as of right now i have the ford handling pack.

So is the noise a dull thunk or a metal clink... I ask because when I had my FRPP Struts installed I got my car back with a Metal clink in the front end drivers side. The dealer who installed my struts damaged one of the swaybar end links and did not want to admit it, They replaced almost the entire front end before finally agreeing with me that it was just a damaged end link.

If your car is an 05-07...then you may need the new upper strut mounts. TSB 07-18-2. Part # 8R3Z-18183-B. You can also check the endlinks..they tend to loosen up.

Mine is doing the same thing when I go over bumps. It's a thunk as well. I can't find it yet either. Keep me updated if you find out what yours is. I replaced my upper strut mounts when I changed springs so that rules those out.

Mine just started doing that last thursday. mine is also an 07. I have the eibach pro kit and tokiko d specs, but did not change the strut mounts at that time 10,000 miles later and starts making noise.so i ordered steeda hd strut mounts from brenspeed.i'll put them on this sat. hopefully will fix my problem.. good luck with yours.. If i find anything else wrong i will post.

When you replace the upper strut mounts, make sure they used the new part number.

jlugo - just tighten the hell outta them and drive it.

jfg07 - from prior posts regarding the steeda HD mounts..they did not resolve the issue.

Here's the thread, it's a big one:

finally figured out what the problem was. me and my friend checked it, we took out the wheel and noticed that most of the bolts that link the shock to everything else where loose for some reason. we tighten them up, drove around and the noise was gone!

haha i had the same problem but it happened after i hit a huge pot hole. I thought my suspension was effed up but turned out that i guess the bump was so hard that the screws loosened i think from the front strut mount. Just had to tighten it and car was perfect again.
