Anybody running a Optima Red Battery??

Group 35 is what you need. I've been doing a lot of research on this. Seems several people have had bad luck with them. I'm thinking about buying a Diehard Platinum from sears. They are essentially Odessey batteries (PC1500 in this case). Cost $189.99 and has a 10 year warranty (first 4 years are free, last 6 years are prorated).

Well I went with the Diehard, got home, installed it, and now I have to take it back. The Group 35 is not the correct battery for our cars. It does not clear the hood, it's too damn tall. The hood won't close.
Wait, I just realized. I have a HO Whipple Kit. Did we have to relocate the battery? I don't recall......
Just a FYI....I'm going to just buy the Motorcraft instead.

Did more research. If you got the large battery in your car, its a 590 CCA group 40r battery. Almost 11" long.

I've never had any bad luck with Optima batteries, I'vw had one in my old truck since 1999!!!!! Still good..... I got one in my Stang, a red top, no problems, fit in like a glove..... If you got warranty issues, buy them from Auto Zone or Advance, they will test it, if it's bad, you get a new one (so as long as its in the free replacement period). They go for about 180 at Auto Zone...... Never had a problem with Optimas though
