Unhappy my SoCal setback; still crying

so i know someone had a little mishap with there front bumper the other night and i felt really bad cause i know how it feels. well here it goes....

tonight i went to pick up a friend from her apartment in hollywood, pulled up to the apartment and my buddy in the car with me said just pull in her driveway, so i did. next thing you know my friend yells oh no the gate.
gate? what gate? thats what i was thinking...when booooooom the damn gate rolls closed and hits my rear passenger side. it hit right behind my wheel well and the damn thing had so much force, it pulled my bumper right off the car. broke all the clips on that side and even cracked apart the wheel well liner, shattered that rear bumper light, scratched up the part on the panel, and even caused a crease on the rear bumper itself next to the license plate area. it was so devastating im still down from it even after they tried to take me out and cheer me up. i was so excited for the SoCal cruise, now i don't even know if i'll be able to get the car out of the shop fast enough. to add to it, i just started driving the car again this week after i lowered it and put my exhaust on. what now???? someone say something to make me feel better, lol. i'm gonna try to get the car in the shop asap tomorrow but i dont know how long its going to take for her building's insurance to take care of it. good thing is that her parents own the building and said it wasn't a problem, they would take care of it. so whether or not there's any money out of my pocket i'm still hurt. i feel bad for putting my baby in the position i put her in. one upside is now i'll get my gt500 spoiler and have it painted and put on all at the same time. it just really hurts to see her in the condition she's in. she is too beautiful to have a hanging bumper.

You should kick your friend's ***. (Joking....or am I?)

"Oh hai just pull up in the driveway.....OMG THE GATE"

Was the gate hidden behind like a brick wall or something?

Bro, have her parents contact whatever fence Co. that put the gate in because its in violation. No automatic gate is suppose to be operational with out safety sensors to keep just what happen from happening and the cost of repairing your car should be on them not her parents. Gates that powerfull have 3 safetys, in ground sensor loop, electronic eye beam sensor and a softedge sensor. If none of those are on it or were not inplaced place before it was turned on the fence Co. is at fault and I would hight recomend that you tell her parents.

These were exactly my thoughts. Especially in California where all the sue happy lawyers are. And just imagine if a small person/child was to be in that gates way, how much physical damage it would have caused. Glad u r ok and the car can be fixed fast if u take it in right away.

Sorry to hear that man, I agree with the Fence Company being at fault.
A month is plenty of time if they can order the parts & get started on the repairs right away.
