how to set pinion angle?
#2
My BMR LCA directions for adjusting pinion angle were as follows:
1. Make sure the rear end is loaded either by setting the car on the ground of letting the car rest on jack stands positioned under the rear axle. In both cases, the car needs to be as level as possible and the suspension loaded.
2. Place an angle finder on the rear portion of the two piece driveshaft and record the angle. Now place the angle finder on the pinion yoke and record the angle.
3. Subtracting one angle from the other results in your pinion angle(Example: -2 rear end angle subtracting from 0 driveshaft angle= -2 degrees)
4. Adjust the control arms to achieve the desired angle.
5. As a starting point, most cars seem to like the following initial settings: Automatics: 1-2 degrees negative, Manuals:2-3 degrees negative.
6. Once pinion angle has been set, tighten all jam nuts.
All of this information above courtesy of BMR Fabrication.
The only thing I would add is to make sure you take you measurement from the flatest part of the pinion yoke. This is exactly how I adjusted my car and it worked out fine, hope this helps.

Back when I did my suspension and d/s, this thread helped me.
It's the same CrazyAl guy. He's kind of smart.
