I got my mirror out of a crashed Grand Marquis, it has the compass and autodim and it was free, the homelink unit that I installed into the overhead console came out of a Town Car sun visor, also free.

Found a ford part with auto dim, homelink, compass, on an eBay auction from a Ford dealer. Just over $100. Temp would have been nice, but I loved the price.

Where ever you get it from, be sure to get the special tool for removing the mirror. Dont ask me how I know. But I was lucky enough that only a chunk of glass came out and didnt ruin my window.

Anyone attempted to tap into the map lights for power rather than running to the fuse box?

That's the link for the mount. It's all aluminum and powdercoated black. Cost a little more than the plastic ones but very much worth the price.

Not the map lights as the SJB controls them.

But there is ignition switched 12V in the overhead
console for the OEM RearView with the compass and auto-dim.
As well as the reverse inhibit for the auto dim feature.
Its there but not being used.
Violet wire on C919. Fuse 7, 10A.

Thanks for the link. Great product. How do you connect the 2 halves of the mirror clamp. If it screws in from the top it looks like its very close to the windshield glass.
