Tips on installing new rear shocks on my 06 GT?
I have Roush rear shocks on the way and will install them this week on my 06 GT convertible. I put the Roush springs on about a month ago and need the stiffer damping of the shocks I think. Anyway, does anyone have any tips or things I need to look out for when putting these on? Thanks in advance
It is pretty straight forward, and you don't need any special tools especially for the rear.
Check out TacoBill's How To: Install Lowering Springs...he has step by step directions provided.

Hey roadracer516, sorry to get off the subject, but did you ever consider getting the Cervini Type II stylebar? I have one on my 07 (tungsten grey also) and it is awesome. I get compliments on it all the time. My next big mod will be thde Cervini side exhast.
Sorry about that, my mistake.
Installing the rear dampers are easy, it is just taking loose the bolts on the axle near the sway bar and getting inside the trunk to access the top bolt. The torque specs are (30 lb-ft) for the top bolt and the (85 lb-ft) for the bottom bolt. If you installed the springs you can definitely do the shocks.

Here is a link to an exploded view of the rear suspension, shows all the bolts, torque values, etc: Exploded View. I don't have any links to a step-by-step rear damper install but between this and Taco Bill's write-up you should be able to get the job done. The top nut on the shocks (the nut holding the shocks to the chassis, inside the rear trunk) can be a pain because trying to remove it can just turn the shock's inards. Sometime you have to use two wrenches, one on the nut and one on the very top of the shock, and apply opposite pressure.

It's not a complicated procedure, even without a lift.
To the OPer you can get to it through the trunk or by folding the back seats down and accessing it from the cabin (probably more room).
