You can still open the door. Just be carefull as you may damage the weatherstipping. Ford would have to be crazy to build a car that could not be exited in case of a battery failure. Especially in the litigation happy United States of America! They would be just asking for a law suit if they did. Also, this would be a very rare situation. I wouldn't worry about. The chances of your battery just suddenly dying like that are very, every rare. There's usually plenty of other warning signs before that happens. Tres Wright's story is very, every rare. Don't worry about it and enjoy your car!

I have already had the privilage of opening doors on an 05 with the battery disconnected, the windows move more than enough to get the doors open without damage to the windows or doors. You have to be a bit more careful closing the doors and kind push the gass in while the door is being closed.

OK OK OK, here is the what if no one thought about yet...
Not only does your battery die while you are in it but you have just blown the motor in a high speed chase running from the Columbian drug cartel while driving off a long pier over a 100 ft drop into salt water and you have just submerged the car and are going down fast while bullets are raining down on you...
What would you do now? I mean, I wouldn't want to hurt my weather stripping...

Anyone thought about that yet? Since the windows rolls up into the lip, Ford's fix to rain gutters, how would u get the door open?
