Spoke with Ford Tech yesterday. Said same problem with newer model T-bird. They have seen it happen. Said that window didn't break, but screwed up weather stripping and that had to be replaced.

==A battery won't die that quickly. You will see signs of it failing long before it stops giving enough power to operate the window.==
Not always true. I was driving from Austin to Dallas in a 1 year old truck and pulled over at a rest area. I got back in and the battery was completely dead, would not even power the lights inside the car. It also would not jump. I had started it 4 times that morning in Austin driving to different places and it showed no signs whatsoever of trouble. I had to call my wife and have her buy a new battery and bring it to me (luckily I wasn't far out of Dallas). I was really surprised, I had never had a battery just die on me like that before. I did some checking and found out that sometimes the lead post inside the battery can fracture and if it does, you've instantly got a dead battery on your hands.
So yes, the problem mentioned here can happen.
