2010 Revealed
#81
I know it won't convince anyone here with a GT to go and get the 2010 stang, but some people with early 6ers (05-06) might like the new styling and upgrade to a GT.
If a V6 Camaro wants to race me cause he's got a 300hp V6, I'll just remind him that he weights 500 lbs more than me with 15 less hp (he gets 300hp@6500rpm!!!). Then he can check out my sequential tail lights!

Oh my bad, I thought we were talking stock cars.

I'd rather have 2 GT500's for the price of 1 ZR1. I think a Coupe will do for rainy days, and a Vert for when the weather is nice.
/Realizes that the GT is no longer manufactured.
//Also realizes the $150K for the GT. Preemptive strike!
///Sorry to everyone here for the flame war.

Frankly, it amuses me that so many ppl (including some on this site) completely dismiss the GT500 from the Mustang vs. Camaro discussion. Yes, it will cost you more, but look at how the Terminators priced compared to the 4th gen F-bods of the previous year. Same thing. Besides which, if GM did offer the mythical 500+hp Z28, it would cost well over 40K as well......AND would probably weigh in more than the Shelby (if they did the LS9 or LSA drivetrain).
Bottom line, GM does NOT have a factory 500hp Camaro. Deal with it.
As far as the 2010, it is what I and many others were expecting: an exterior refresh and interior overhaul (and a very good one at that), nothing more. New drivetrains come online for 2011. So wait until those specs are released before starting all the crying and ranting. If that's not good enough, you can stroll down to your local Dodge or GM dealerships right now and put in an order for one of their new ponies. Rant/off.

So you're assuming that ppl will mod up their Camaro V6's and start breaking stock S197 GT hearts, yes? Well, guess what? I have modded up my GT, and WILL be breaking Camaro SS hearts.........fair enough? Make up your mind dudes, either defend the stock for stock, mod for mod theory......or get into the "run what ya brung" camp. You can't play both sides.

Preach Brother!!!

Yes, it will cost you more, but look at how the Terminators priced compared to the 4th gen F-bods of the previous year. Same thing. And fact is that you'll be paying 5-7K more on average for an SS vs. a GT. But somehow, that's not alot to pay for only a bit over 100hp more. You ppl need to stop comparing fully loaded GT with barebones SS prices (which is the only way you'll come close to paying under 31K). Besides which, if GM did offer the mythical 500+hp Z28, it would cost well over 40K as well......AND would probably weigh in more than the Shelby (if they did the LS9 or LSA drivetrain).

I like the "run what ya brung" style. Good mix of power and street driving.
