255/45-18 is an appropriate choice, and I would take that as "2 sizes larger". 265/xx would be three.

I've seen this same description "2 sizes larger/bigger/wider" very recently and I'm coming to the conclusion that if the salesman is not familiar enough with the product that he sells to include specific size suggestions to the customers who are looking to buy other than OE sizes that he should just pass the call over to somebody who is/can.[/soapbox]
