Default Hood Lift Kit for Trufiber Hoods

I just saw that they now have a kit designed for their hoods. Has anyone tried them yet or does anyone know anything about them?

not sure??

Barry (Cutterwolf) had an aftermarket hood lift kit on his car for a while and he said that unfortunately they would not decompress enough and the backside of the hood (closest to the windshield) would not sit even with the fenders. that's why I was wondering about these.

I am sure once Barry sees this post, he'll chime in with the specifics.

Thanks Cam, Ok here is the deal. (This does not hold true for all fiberglass hoods) Most fiberglass hoods need a special type of hood lift kit. Reason being is that do to its very light weight it can not fully decompress the struts or do to the mounting angle of the struts the weight will not let them decompress. This apply s stress to the hood which will bow the hood towards the back raising it above the fenders. I found this out the hard way by getting a very nice set of Billet struts and mounts only to find out this very problem. The set that Trufiber carries I know for a fact work because I have seen them on Mellowyellows car. So Cam, if you want hood struts those are the ones to get.

Cutter is right and I guess my hoods are heavy cause most kits will work with any fiberglass hoods and I have a Cervinis hood and that same Trufiber hood as Matt above. I love redline and have not had any issues with compression of the hood struts etc. I believe Cervinis makes a kit now for the fiberglass hoods and I will provide a link!

I believe they would work for any hood regardless of material as they all attach the same way.
