I Need Some Suggestions
Hello. This is my first post. I am not much of a poster so bare with me.
This is my situation:
I recently paid off my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT and I am thinking about getting a new Mustang. I am going to Central next fall which is over the pass here in Washington. They receive a lot of snow during the winter months. I am not sure if I should keep my truck while I am there or get a Mustang. How do the Mustangs handle in the snow?
I am also not sure if I should get a 2009 in the next few months or wait to get a 2010 next March. I don't want a brand new 2010 Mustang sitting outside at Central in the rain and snow. I could always keep the 2010 at home while I am away. This is a possibility.
I would be getting a GT.
If you have any advice that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
2009 Mustang GT is basically the same power train from 2005, except for the 3.55 axle ratio if you are willing to get the leather seat.
2010 will have some minor (15HP) enhancement plus 3.73 optional axle ratio. There are more options on dashboard electronics if you care about those.
One advantage for 2009 is perhaps financial incentives right now.

The 2010 will have advance trac stability control, which should give it a tremendous advantage over the 05-09's in the snow.
Also, since they will have an on, off, and sport stage for TCS, I assume that ON will actually work this time around. 05-09 traction control is useless and causes more danger with it on than with it off.

If it was me I would just keep that truck, if you really wanted a 2010 Stang or atleast one of that body style. I would use the truck for college, and just get the Stang when you could afford it later, keep it in the garage in the winter months. Unfortunatly I dont have that luxury with mine but yes some good tires and good driving habits, and you should be fine just keep a smooth steady and slow throtle and you will be fine with it, and the weight for a little extra insurance
