Default Fuel Gauge Problem

Hello, been awhile since I made a new thread, but I have a problem -

Every once in a while, my fuel gauge will go to empty and my gas light will come on, regardless of how much gas I have in the tank (no doubt, it happened just a few miles after I filled up as well as about half a tank). After turning the car off and on, it goes back to an accurate reading. This doesn't happen too often or frequently. It started 3 days after I got a car wash that included an "under body flush."

Any ideas?

Either the sensor got wet somehow and screwed up the part or its a coincidence and the sensor (with the cold) might be malfunctioning!

How could I test the sensor?

Mine started doing this after installation of dual GT500 pumps. Very annoying.
