I've had this happen ALLOT lately, and finally took it in for a fuel pump issue.
Guess what, fuel pump got swapped and never had an issue since. And I've been on 3 long trips since ( 400 + miles each ) and even did that to try to reproduce, no problems what-so-ever.

I would get that fuel pump TSB and get it changed.

NOW, if you have upgraded your fuel pump due to a blower, than I would not even know where to begin .. Hope that helped

And it seems most noticable in 3rd. I really thought the Paxton had started to take its toll. Not that not knowing what the hell it is makes me feel better, but at least Im not alone .

mine happened this morning on my 25 mile ride. and i dont think ford is going to think it is the fuel pump seeing that that tsb is for all 05's and early 06's. i've never had the same problem on long cruises with either the 07 or my new 08. and i go on a lot of road trips to concerts all over the southeast. i still think i spun the tires with tc on this morning for some reason. but time will tell. got another hour at work and then it is off to see what happens.

Mine has done it with a Brenspeed custom tune installed. And usually its been around town, not during my more usual long distance trips (typically 400 miles 1 way minimum).

Guys,

It's that dumb fly by wire!
When you do this quick, the engine is still in rpms when you press the clutch pedal.

People are having these problems when they go to road race, it's always out of sync.
Same way when you floor it quick, the computer is still in LALA land...

i tried the same shift last night and this morning. and no problems. as soon as i put it in 3rd and released the clutch she was ready to go. guess it was just a fluke. i have a 4 hr road trip on friday to go meet the ole lady for valentines day and will be able to try it a few more times and see if it ever happens again.
and i hate the drive by wire systems in these cars. and all new cars for that matter.
