Finally Serialized
Finally after 6 months and 1 week, I get serialized. But the only problem is I already bought one. They have a build date of June 27th. Even after they get it built and delivered to the dealer, it would have been almost 8 months since my original order was placed. The dealer has done everything they could to get it to me but was unable. I can not the fault the dealer for the big delay but the order processing procedures Ford uses.
So, if anyone is looking for a mineral gray deluxe (cloth seats), 5 speed manual, dark charcoal interior, IUP and Shaker 500, let me know. I'll get you in touch with the dealer. They are a very respectable dealer and will not sell it over MSRP. The estimated delivery date for this car is around July 10th.

Dayum... and I was thinking you would get one of those "Sorry but" letters from Ford.
As hot as the stangs are... maybe you could go ahead and pick it up and then sell it for a grand over what you paid! LOL... or give it to your wife... or I am SURE you teenage son would LOVE a new stang.. LOL

Finance it through Ford and you will have 45 days before a payment is due. I just bet you could sell it before then.

But, what stopped me was the fact that I would also have to pay sales tax, which would have been over $2200 here in CA, plus the other little charges (dest, title/lic, etc). So, just to break even, I would have needed to be able to sell it for about $3K over MSRP. It wasn't worth the risk, for what would have technically been a "used" car at that time.
And to make it worse, mine didn't have the factory 6-speed in it.

Even though I can pick it up for $150 over invoice, Don_W is right on the sales tax. That would put it slightly above MSRP plus being a used car. That is a risk taking the fact that the 06 models will be coming out a couple of months later. This ordered car is at the original release price back in November. So with the prices increases that has been put into effect since then, it still would be a close call. Maybe I should trade in the 02 or sell it and buy the 05. Payments should be pretty low for what I would get for the 02. Besides, I'm getting married in September and could be an early wedding present to her. Imagine, his and hers GT's. That would also make a couple of mineral gray owners here happy. I would have a Sonic Blue and a Mineral Gray GT.
