Default Hood adjustment

When i am driving at greater than 70 mph, the hood rattles up and down and it annoys the heck out of me. Does anyone else notice this? It seems air gets up underneath it and causes it to rattle up and down and you can physically see it as you drive.

I think if the center mail lock mechanism was lowered a tad, it would for the hood to be tighter on the rubber tabs that align it with the front quarter panels. Is this possible? What has anyone else done that notices this as well? Thanks

It's normal. I think some people have fixed it. Hood pins might take care of it but there may be another way.

I had the same issue with my stock hood, tried adjusting the bump stops and it still "danced" when I was on the interstate. Try adjusting your bump stops up and see if that helps, if not, you might want to look into some hood pins.

I've now got hood pins on my aftermarket hood and it is so much nicer.

the 4 bump stops worked for me and no problems up to 130 MPH!

What is odd is that the left side of the hood is worse than the right side as far as the "dancing" goes. I can reduce the "dancing" by raising the bump stop on the left side, but it does not make it go away. Plus it then raises the hood above the quarter panel and is not aligned properly which drive me crazy too!

So there is no way of lowering the center main hood lock?

Hood pins completely fix this problem?

Hood pins would eliminate the problem for sure and the stops can be readjusted after the new hood pins are done! No issues with the hood lining up either.

I adjusted the center lock mechanism down and that helped alot.
Remove the plastic rad cover and their are two bolts that hold lock
mechanisim (8 or 10mm?) 1/4 drive socket works best,
loosen and use wood block w/hammer to drive straight down,
mine moved atleast 1/4", after that redo rubber stop adjustment
to align hood/fender height.

AWESOME! That gives me a couple of options. I dont think my car is custom enough for the hood pins, so I will see about the lock mechanism adjustment and report back. The hood pins look great with an aftermarket hood or GT500 hood though.
