Default rattle from shifter

Just curious to know if there is anyway to fix the rattle i have from the shifter. It rattles after 3k rpm and I think its just from the slp loudmouths and I think the tune from brenspeed kicks in at 3k so it gets extra loud and I guess just shakes things around.

So is my neighbor ricemobile,lol.

My Hurst is very quiet but, I'll be very surprised if he has the stock shifter and it rattles.
The GT tranny is smooth and so is the shifter.
Only with the T5 in the sixer, you'd have that issue.

This and this will fix the rattle. I followed his instructions to the letter and my Hurst, which really rattled at WOT and 3rd gear decel, is now stone quiet. It still vibrates, but I don't hear it - at all.

Make an isolator kit by putting a flat piece of rubber between the shifter and the handle. Then Dyno mat everything under the console. I then put insulation"the kind that is under our car carpet but thicker" and layered it on top of the Dyno mat. Try and put teflon thread tape on the shifter threads and before putting the ball back on stuff some rubber foam into the ball. Put everything back together and enjoy how much quieter it is.The tape and foam in the ball is the trick as well as the isolator piece. It will take that buzzing sound away that is coming up the shifter and through the ball. My Hurst is now rattle free.Thank God.

Positive its the shifter? Not the E-brake handle? When you grab the shifter the rattle stops?

Yes its the inside of the shifter and the rattle works its way up the shifter and you hear it in the shifter ball. Do the tips mentioned earlier in other post and that will fix it. Also a little spray of Teflon or liquid graphite into the base of the shifter. It will works its way down into the internal fittings and act as an absorber just enough to stop the rattle. Yes if you put your hand on the handle when its rattling it will stop also. I have always kept my hand on the shifter when driving hard anyways,so it really doesn't bother me. It never rattles with normal driving.
