Zex nitrous kit/additional things needed for install
#11
Ok the Zex kit is pretty much plug and play. Not real difficult! However, you're car is modified and probably would be a good idea to get a tune.
The other items that are good to have but not absolutely necessary:
Fuel pressure gauge -good to have, remmember you loose fuel pressure bad things happen.
Wideband AF -Nice to have when you are running nitrous at higher shots for sure.
Purge -Seriously consider this, the solenoids will be bleeding down under pressure every time you close the bottle. Better to purge it and take the pressure of the solenoids.
Window switch- Just depends, it's a nice safety device if you're unsure what you're doing. If you can remember to not initiate the nitrous until after 2500 rpm and you aren't in the habit of banging the rev limiter then you'll probably be fine. A lot of people tell you this is a must....I don't use one and never have.
Bottle Heater- If it's just for the track, you don't need it. I use a torch less likelyhood of running down batteries and cheaper.
Remote opener- Nice, but you don't have to have it.
I think that's most of the big stuff. All of it can be added later.
Hope that helps,
OOps almost forgot plugs! Some HTO's would be good. Not a big deal below a 75 shot but 75 and above you really should!

I am no nitrous guru but from what I know the plate mounts up right behind the throttle body and when you hit the magic button the nitrous is distributed directly into the throttle body. its a very efficient method.

Thanks for the great advice guys. and thanks PLstang for taking the time to break all the options down for me. very useful...
I'd looked at the plate system from NX Express and also was looking at the CMCV plate deletes with nitrous bosses. that seems like the best method of fogging the nitrous.
so what would you guys recommend if i went all out, no money spared on a nitrous setup? Zex seems to have the better accessories but NX has the throttle plate and can be plumbed into the cmcv plates.
Long term, if I wanted to go with a full-on built motor and 200 shot the NX setup with TB plate or cmcv bosses may be a better bet, yes?
