Well, I have a 5-speed manual. Is Brenspeed or Bama better for manual or is it just personal preference? I know Bama is known for automatics but I haven't heard anything either way as far as manual.

As far as the CAI, would I be okay going with the Racer over the Street if this is my first mod? I've read that much more needs to be done to truly utilize the extra air flow of the Racer but I don't see paying an extra $55(Bama)-$60(Brenspeed) for the Street if they will both function just the same for me. Is this true?

Also look at the JLT. About 80-100 less expensive than the C&L and will produce the same hp/tq. Bamachips is having a christmas special.

I had been running Brenspeeds canned 93 tune for about a year. I installed LT's last Dec & had Brent do a custom tune on mine in Feb. Only netted a few more HP & TQ over his canned tune. I just wanted peace of mind that my A/F ratio was good since installing the LT's.
By the way, his canned A/F was sopt on.
Minor bolt ons,manual & JLT2 CAI.

I'm not real thrilled with my bama tune. And trust me I'm not a squeeze-every-last-rwhp snob either.

My 1st 87 Performance tune performed significantly worse than stock. I got a fix for them and it MIGHT be back up to stock.

I tried out 93 Race and it is just a little better than stock. If you weren't looking for a difference you might not notice a difference from stock. This tune might need the same fix my 87 Perf tune did.

After I add my headers soon, I'm definitely going dyno. I have no faith in email tunes. Obviously it works for a lot of people but it has not for me.

I believe he meant spot on.

Does anyone have any actual comparison between the tunes that come on the SCT and the ones produced by Brenspeed or Bama?? I know everyone thinks they are great and I'm not saying they're not, but I'd like to know how they compare to the canned tunes from SCT.

the difference between the canned Diablo tune and a tune from Brenspeed and Bama was pretty big IMO

My experience was this: I picked up a Hypertech III tuner cheap and the power gain curve looked pretty good on the site. It made my 06 GT stick with a CAI run noticeably better then stock. I then after 6 months, bought a SCT and custom 87 92 93 tunes from Brenspeed. I installed the 92, ran it for the first time..then emailed them "HOLY SH**!!!!!!!!"...Brent replied..."Ya we hear that a lot"

There was no comparision

Thank you. That's the stuff I'm looking to hear.

Now, will it matter if I go with the C&L Street or Racer CAI??
