What I would do is post ads in craigslist, within driving distance. Maybe you could find someone who has a stick, who wants an auto, and work out a trade. In the last 20 years, I have sold several mustang standards, but I always got a few calls from females or dads of females, who wanted an auto and a standard was not an option for them. Just an idea.

Sell it yourself, then go buy new or good used. You will not take as big of a depreciation hit if you buy used. I recently picked up an '06 for about half of what the original sticker was. Plus it came with the quarter window covers.

You'll never get what your car is worth. Plus with such low mileage, you effectively still have a new car. Financially, it would be a stupid move. Spend the dough you save on some mods.

Why not use the money you have saved to get a manual transmission?

I dont know anything about the process but im sure it would be less of a hit than buying a new car...

Why don't you wait and trade it in on the new 2010? Unless you don't like it.

Check around online. There is a complete drivetrain out of an '06 for two grand here in the Tampa Bay area (craigslist). I am sure the buyer could talk them out of the pedal assembly as well.

If I had the extra scratch, I would buy it just to have as a spare...

If this is the one you are talking about, it is an auto. I have not seen any others, and I watch it pretty closely.
