Default Stainless Steel Welding

I just installed a full exhaust system on my car and on the H-Pipe the clamps are not sealing correctly. The metal is lifting in certain spots and is creating audible exhaust leaks. I went to a shop to see about welding it and I want stainless welding only so it won't rust. It is so expensive to get done. I only need two welds ran and its ridiculous. Anyone have any recommendations? Maybe new clamps or something or something I am missing here? Ideas?

Huuugh, stainless weld on regular steel won't bond too good.
Nothing's wrong with doing it the regular way with a MIG and spray a few coats of hi-temp silver paint on the area and VOILA!

The trick is to let the paint cure for an hour before cranking the car and get everything hot...
Got your message BTW.

+1...that's how my welds are done. Cleaned and painted after all done, let dry for awhile. No problems with rust...but rust is not so much a problem in this part of texas anyway.

Well then, how 'bout brazing? Won't rust either.
I haven't done it in years... Damn I'm getting old

Remember the Stangs of the 60s?
That's how they tacked quarter panel before spot welding...

Agreed.

Use E71T-GS flux core, and some high temp paint. The factory stainless pipes and aluminized pipes weld together very well.

I do too, but very rarely...
I used lead on my 70 Cougar and I'll do it on my fastback at the roof/quarter line.
Just like the factory used it on that seam.

Lol, we're the last of the Mohicans...

WHOOAAAAA everyone...Lol. The pipes are stainless steel all the way through. I found a shop whi is gonna MIG weld the pipes together with something that wont rust. The thiefs want $30 a pipe to weld. This exhaust has become ridiculous... if it didn't sound this nice I wouldn't bother but the leaks are killing the sound.
