Default Removing factory spoiler

Is this hard to do? Just getting it off there. I have a replacement spoiler to put on but the instructions say nothing about removing the one that's already there.

Do a search, there's plenty of info out there. Easy to do, all you need is fishing line and WD-40 or Goof-Off.

No, not hard at all. The adhesive is the worst part. There are four nuts under your decklid to remove. Once you remove those, get yourself some steel braided fishing line and basically "saw" thru the adhesive holding each side of the spoiler to the decklid. Also get some 3M Adhesive Remover, or something similiar, to use after you get it off in order to remove the excess (which there will be a lot of) adhesive

You can't just rock the spoiler front and back until it comes loose?

Will nylon fishing line work (20 lb. test)? I have some goo gone I can use to remove the rest once the spoiler is off.

Sure, give it a shot. I soaked mine and let it sit overnight, made it easier to remove.

Won't that crap eat through the clear coat if left on there for hours at a time (WD, goo gone)?

+1...to these instructions and to get the adhesive of I used GooGone. I wouldn/t recommend rocking the spoiler back and forth because you might dent the truck lid. Here are couple pics after removing the spoiler and using the GooGone .

+1 dont do that at all...i removed mine quite easily...just used a knife and took off the goo with an eraser that you can put on a drill and it was safe for clear coat...got my neighbor that works at a local body shop to help me out...well i kinda just supervised...but that worked real well also
