Ideas for sub enclosures
Been poking around for a sub enclosure - or possibly making my own up-firing sub box and have it ported through the rear speaker tray. Anyway, the Stealthbox is out - can't see dropping $1k on it. The Scosche is out of production. And I'm kinda wishy-washy on the Thunderform only because I can't buy it unloaded. I've already got a JL 10W3 from another application.
Anybody seen this enclosure? http://www.bassforms.com/ProductDeta...ode=BF210STANG
Looks nice, price is right, but it's a little too small for a W3.

JL StealthBox FTW
Those BassForms look kickin but the internal volume will
have to be compatable with the JL 10W3 internal volume
requirements.

Look over that, and build your own box or have a local shop do it for you for a lot cheaper than what you'd pay to buy it for
What i'm gunna do anyways...

Yes, yes, keep em commin. Im lookin to get rid of my monster box in my trunk and go for a little cleaner look. Some of those look real nice, but real pricy. If your handy with your hands, fab something custom up. Homemade ftw.

I'm starting to think about a custom box. It can't be that hard. Wondering if a box right behind the back seat and ported up through the speaker tray is worth attempting? Doesn't the fact that the subs are isolated in the trunk mean that the bass is going to be muffled?

I dont know much about audio, but i don't like the fact of putting subs in the trunk. Dealing with the rattle and everything doesn't seem to be my cup of tea. If i decide to do subs id get something installed inside the cabin. I got an estimate for a 10" sub custom installed between those two speakers behind the back seat and it was like $900 for the sub, amp, and install. I don't remember what kind of sub/amp they were, but he was charging me around $250-300 for the install...
