Default Powder Coating FR500 Wheels

I bought some black FR500 Wheels from American Muscle a while ago and I decided that I would like the look better without the polished lip. I decided to paint them black using Duplicolor's wheel coating, but it's hard to get a really good finish with a rattle can paint. I'm thinking about getting my wheels powder coated, but I read that cast aluminum sometimes experiences out-gassing which causes bubbles in the finish. Has anyone here had experience with powder coating, especially with regard to wheels from American Muscle? And does anyone know anything else about out-gassing?

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks

If you know somebody with a body shop have them spray them with good paint and a good clear and you will probably be farther ahead.

I haven't been able to yet. All of the ones I've found around here have been closed for the holidays but I keep trying. I found one shop that looks like they do good work but I need to talk to them about my wheels being aluminum so we'll see.

I just talked to one shop that I know does good work. My dad's friend has his Porsche and Mercedes wheels powder coated there. I've seen the work first hand and I know it's good. They told me they could paint my wheels satin black for $135 each or powder coat them satin black for $185 each. Would it be worth it to spring for the powder coating? And are those prices too high?
