GT500 vs Whipple
Well I guess the tiltle says most of it. I am thinking of trading my car in for a GT500. I have a friend that is a general manager at a Ford dealership, so trading my car in & being upside down is not a problem. He would also get me a very good deal on the GT500. That being said the car payments would still be quite a bit more.
So the question is, do I trade for the GT500 or put a whipple on my car? Opinions???

IMHO, find out what the difference in payment is, then put that away every month into savings till the new GT500's are out. That way you accomplish the following:
you know what that payment feels like on your wallet
you have a little money to put down and lower the payment, OR
you have a good chunk of that whipple paid for
you made a few more payments on current car, thus less upside down
my .02 but you know you wont get stuck in a tight spot.

if you know someone and can get a good deal, there should be no question!
the 5.4 forged block alone is worth it.
plus all the other goodies.
i wish i bought one from day one myself.
my trade in quote was like 28k plus my 4week old 600 mile CS, so i really could build what i want with a forged block for less $
i'd say go for it.
much more potential, big hp/tq without worries of throwing a rod, warranty, etc.

Why would you put a Whipple on your car when you already have a Vortech blower??
Only you know your financial situation, but with that said losing money on your mods and depreciation is never an ideal financial move.
If it were me, I'd pass on the Shelby, plan on keeping the GT for a long, long time, and mod it to my specific taste.
Why lose money on your car, to buy an expensive new Shelby, which you know you will want to modify. Seems counter intuitive financially speaking.
