How to disable the heated seats auto off function???
Hello all,
I would like to know if anyone knows what needs to be done to keep the heated seats on when I press the button. I hate that it shuts off like 10 minutes after. I imagine there is a relay or something but i dont know much about that stuff so I'm looking for help.
Help?

Simple mod.

Simple mod as the seat heater relays are really controlled by
the ClimateControlModule, not the SJB.
All you need is a latching relay the latches when you turn on the
seat heaters and does not unlatch until you turn off the ignition
independent of when the CCM times out and turns off the seat
heaters.
The CCM grounds the Heated Seats Relays that are located
where a traditionally mounted fuse box used to be. On the
Drivers side under the dash on the firewall area. Its a block
that has two relays on it. Pretty easy to find and get to.
Essentially there are 2 12V wires, 1 wire out to the heaters
and 1 wire in from the CCM per seat per relay.
When you push the heated seat request button, the CCM
grounds the appropriate relay and the seat heats. You can
use this ground signal to also turn on a second relay that
self latches and keeps providing the ground to the Heated
Seats Realy(s).
The positive side of the coil on this secondary relay (one per side)
is connected to either the ACC-DELAY or a 12 volt source
thats only active when the key is in the start or run position.
When you turn off the ignition, this 12 volts goes away and the
secondary latching relay unlatches. It can all be done in the
Heated Seat Relay area avoiding the sensitive CCM or SJB
alltogether.
It could even be a simple plug and play mod if you modified
an OEM Heated Seat Relay wich would also have the needed
secondary latching relay circuit inside of it.
Making it a true 'remove the stock relays and replace with
these latching relays' 1 minute mod.
