You'll eventually have to replace your engine mounts themselves. After having my longtubes installed they beat up against the steering shaft and frame something fierce. I immediately ordered the new mounts and had them installed the next week. Fortunately, installing the new mounts will be much easier than the hell you're going through now with the longtubes. Good luck bro.

On the bright side, you're going to LOVE the new sound with the LT's.

Yeah.......If I can make it to that sound......I now know why people go crazy. They all attempt to do this F***** job by themselves on their backs. I gotta take a 15 min break and get back at that steering shaft. The top bolt is making me wanna explode. lol I think Ill be ok.

Just relax and take your time. It will work out. I've been in your shoes many times before... halfway through the job, daylight fading. On the bright side you will know every detail of how to complete the job and can assist others here in the future.

do you have any breakfree solvent? turns those nasty bolts into pussycats...

As for the working room, yes everything exascerbates working on your back. That's the frustrating part. I had my car up on the lift at a buddies shop the other day readjusting my entire exhaust system and I told him "there's no way I would need you if I had a lift at home!"..... ah well.

yeah. I took it easy and got the bolt off but I can only wiggle the steering shaft. I went to autozone and got a haynes manual and it says I need to remove the entire steering wheel? Idk but there has to be an easier way to move this shaft an inch or two.

right the kooks doesnt need the removal either but mine are Mac Mufflers and their website wolnt pull up the install instructions. I took the starter out...thats on the other side. The passenger side was a breeze and I think I could wrap this up in an hour if i could just get past this dang shaft.
