Default launch limiter?

so after not moving my car for a few days it wouldnt start so i had to jump start it, after jump starting it i gave it a few revs and noticed that it had a limiter at a little over 4k, keep in mind i have an 05 sixer all stock with the exception of duals. now my question is is it safe to launch it at those rpms or is there a way to adjust it? p.s it only limits it to those rpms while the car is stopped when its moving it allows me to take it all the way to redline

From the factory the car has a 4k RPM neutral rev limiter. There really is no reason to launch at that high of RPMs. Anymore than 2500 and you will just get a lot of tire spin if you're on street tires. I have an auto so I'm not sure how safe it is to launch at 4k on a manual.

i personally launch at 3800rpm at the dragstrip running MT tires, and an 8.8 rear end with 3.73's
i blew up the 7.5 i think because it was getting abuse from the clutches slipping over time and eventually boom boom
but mine launches fine there sticks it no spin rarley
