Great to hear all you answers...I'm sorry for not being more descriptive...car is a bone stock 09 gt/cs with 265 miles (not looking to race or anything at such an early age (miles), just looking to do some homework)...BTW, my bet was closest to iroks answer and his was closest to reving the car to approx. 4500 rpm and dumping the clutch

i hold 3000 rpm on the line, dump the clutch and when the car catches the motor, mat it. This is with the stock Pirrellis

Mods are in my sig. Stock tires and 3.55 gearing. I do just about the same as you except for reving it just a bit higher (around 3000) and I don't usually dump the clutch. Feather it out. I haven't tried dumping it because it spins on me if I feather it out to fast as it is.
