Default Removing heat shield

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I'm trying right now with a flathead but the push-pin thingies are not budging. Anyone have some advice?

pry bars work wonders for pulling things off... only you may not be able to put them back on

I'm guessing you mean the hood liner push pins? Work it as loose as you can, then stick a pair of needle nose pliers in there and yank it out. You can buy replacements at Autozone, so don't worry too much about damaging them. You should be able to re-use most of not all of them anyway.

+1^^

I've used pliers in the past to pull them out...you just have to take your time and work one side at a time

easiest way is to use a panel puller. You can pick one up at your local auto parts store for about $5. If you're in the middle of the job and dont want to stop, use a fork. It won't be ideal because it will bend and it will take longer. You'll probably want to throw away the fork when you're done.

now what are you doing, girl? are you trying to remove the heat blanket from your hood? check autozone, they will have a panel puller.
